Support the stroke INSTITUTE at Spaulding Rehabilitation hospital
The mission of the Spaulding Stroke Research and Recovery Institute is to seek to expand the clinical and translational stroke research program at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and throughout the Spaulding Network, and to develop innovative clinical treatments for current patients.
The Institute seeks to provide opportunities for collaboration and coordination of research efforts, by providing salient avenues of communication among potential collaborators at SRH and beyond. The institute maintains a central stroke research registry to facilitate study recruitment, and fosters dissemination of study information to scientific and lay communities.
The Institute seeks to develop and make available to patients innovative stroke recovery programs, including an annual rehabilitation assessment for stroke survivors, an intensive aphasia and life skills program, and pathways for the clinical use of cutting edge rehabilitation treatments including tDCS, TMS, arm robotics training, and others. The Institute will provide informational resources to patients, families and clinicians to help with the post-acute and long term management of stroke related symptoms.
